Compassionate psychotherapy for children, teens, and adults in IL

You may be searching for a gentle holding space that allows you to exist in all of your complexity. I believe that therapy can be a place to slow down, become curious about yourself, and develop genuine compassion for your unique human expression.

I work folks of all ages who find it harder to stay afloat in today’s world. If you identity as highly sensitive or are struggling with overwhelming emotions, we may work well together. My style prioritizes curiosity, attentiveness, and respect for the complexity of the mind-body ecosystem.

Even in our hardest seasons, we carry an innate capacity to move through what feels heavy. My work honors this belief, and is grounded in a psychodynamic, rogerian, and trauma-informed approach. My aim is to walk alongside you (with a lantern and a warm blanket) as you discover the parts of “you” that ring most true and clear.

My Approach

The therapeutic space I hold is flexible and shaped by your needs. As a psychodynamic therapist, I’m attentive to early relationships, and the ways they shape your present-day experiences. I see my role primarily as a steady witness and companion to your process. Together, we’ll notice patterns, explore possibilities, and work toward greater self-understanding and self-trust. I believe therapy is a place for exploration, experimentation, and even play. You may wish to “try on” new ways of being and relating— to yourself or to others. This kind of exploration may feel vulnerable at first, but becomes easier in the presence of a compassionate witness.

As a provider, I take collaboration seriously. Your symptoms are part of a bigger picture, and may warrant an integrative approach to treatment. I collaborate with psychiatrists, doctors, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and school-staff when needed. From the bottom of my heart, I believe that you are wise and capable.  You are your own best guide and advocate, and I am merely a passenger on your journey.
